- Early Voting for the August 4, 2026 Primary Election will be held in Meeting Room A in the Clare County Building, 225 W. Main Street, Harrison, Ml 48625 on the following dates and times: Days and hours of 9 Days of Early voting will be daily, July 25 thru August 2 from 9 am to 5 pm.
- Hatton Township Hall located at 3988 E Ashard Road, Harrison MI 48625, will be open on Tuesday, August 4 Primary Election Day from 7 am to 8 pm for voters to cast their ballots, turn in absentee ballots. At 8:00 pm on August 4, 2026, Precinct Canvassing for Hatton Township will begin. The public is welcome to attend. - The Clare County Early Voting Precinct Canvass will be held on August 4, 2026, at 8:00 pm in the Meeting Room A in the Clare County Building, 225 W Main Street, Harrison, MI 48625. This is a public meeting, and anyone can attend. In the event that you require assistance due to disability or have further questions, please call the County Clerk’s office at 989-539-7131.
- The regular monthly board meeting for Hatton Township will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 7:30 pm. Regular monthly meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm. The public is invited to attend.
- Hatton Township is seeking more election inspectors for the November election and future elections, please contact Clerk, Linda McClain for more details by emailing hattonclerk@yahoo.com or 989-424-0808. Training for new inspectors will be in October.

The Board of Review will meet on matters of adjustments for Errors and Omissions and Homesteads on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 12:00 pm at the Hatton Township Hall (3988 E Ashard Road, Harrison, MI 48625 ). This meeting is not for tax appeals. Appeals are heard at the March Board of Review Meetings. A notice for the March meetings will be posted in the Clare County Revie tw prior to the meetings.
Hatton Township signed a 5 year contract at the October 2025 meeting with GFL Environmental to provide trash removal services for the township at a fixed rate starting with the winter 2025 of $167.40/year which is collected as a special assessment on the winter taxes. There is NO exemption from this assessment. ALL livable dwellings will be assessed regardless of occupancy. With the new contract, the 2nd week of each month one large item can be placed out with your weekly trash for no additional charge. Tires and items containing freeon are prohibited to put out. At the September 16, 2025 meeting the board appointed, Terry Acton as the new Zoning Administrator. Terry will be replacing long-time Zoning Administrator and former Board Member Trustee, David Farrell who is going to enjoy his retirement days from the Hatton Township Board. Thank you David, for all of your years of service to Hatton Township residents.
Terry Acton has served as the Hatton Township Blight Officer a job he will continue to do along with being our Zoning Administrator. Terry has worked for other cities and townships in Clare County as their blight and zoning officers.

The Hatton Township Board approved the updates/amendments to the 1993 zoning ordinances at their August 19, 2025 meeting. Updates/amendments to the 1994 zoning ordinances will take place on January 1, 2026. See Hatton Township website for a copy of both the 1993 and the 2025 zoning versions.
