Upcoming Events
- The Clare County Monthly Food Distribution for is set for Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Summer location: Clare County Fairgrounds, 418 Fairlane St, Harrison MI 48625. Registration starts at 9:00 am, Distribution is 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Limit of 4 families per vehicle. Bring your registration tag if you are a return visitor. New visitors will be issued a tag. Volunteers are welcomed and appreciated. For the safety of our volunteers, other patrons, and your pets, we ask that you do not bring your pets with you. Only service or emotional support animals allowed.
- The regular monthly township board meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month at 7:30 pm.
- The regular board meeting for June 16, 2026 at 7:30 pm at the township hall (3988 E Ashard Rd, Harrison, MI).
- The 2026-27 Annual Budget Hearing meeting will be held on Monday, June 15 at 6:00 pm at the Hatton Township Hall. Please contact Clerk, Linda McClain at hattonclerk@yahoo.com for any questions.
- Due to the passing of long-time board Trustee, William Guiette, Hatton Township will be seeking to find an eligible and community minded individual that might be interested in filling this important role. If you are interested or have questions, please either send a letter of interest to hattonclerk@yahoo.com or call Clerk, Linda McClain at 989-424-0808 to discuss.
- Hatton Township Hall will be open on August 4, 2026, for the Primary Election from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. If you would like to request an absentee ballot, please go to Absentee voting to fill out the application. If you have previously filled out an application to be on the permanent ballot list, you do not need to do anything. Absentee Ballots will be mailed out by the end of June 2026 to residents that have an absentee ballot application on file or are on the permanent ballot list. If you have questions, please call the Hatton Township Clerk at 989-424-0808.
- The Hatton Township Clerk will be holding required 8 hours the weekend before August 4, 2026, election hours on Saturday, August 1 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. You can register to vote, pick up or drop off absentee ballots.
- Hatton Township public accuracy tests for the August 4, 2026, election will be held on July 7, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Hatton Township Hall.
- Early Voting for the August 4, 2026 Primary Election will be held in Meeting Room A in the Clare County Building, 225 W. Main Street, Harrison, Ml 48625 on the following dates and times:

Old Notices
The Board of Review will meet on matters of adjustments for Errors and Omissions and Homesteads on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 12:00 pm at the Hatton Township Hall (3988 E Ashard Road, Harrison, MI 48625 ). This meeting is not for tax appeals. Appeals are heard at the March Board of Review Meetings. A notice for the March meetings will be posted in the Clare County Revie tw prior to the meetings.
Hatton Township signed a 5 year contract at the October 2025 meeting with GFL Environmental to provide trash removal services for the township at a fixed rate starting with the winter 2025 of $167.40/year which is collected as a special assessment on the winter taxes. There is NO exemption from this assessment. ALL livable dwellings will be assessed regardless of occupancy. With the new contract, the 2nd week of each month one large item can be placed out with your weekly trash for no additional charge. Tires and items containing freeon are prohibited to put out. At the September 16, 2025 meeting the board appointed, Terry Acton as the new Zoning Administrator. Terry will be replacing long-time Zoning Administrator and former Board Member Trustee, David Farrell who is going to enjoy his retirement days from the Hatton Township Board. Thank you David, for all of your years of service to Hatton Township residents.
Terry Acton has served as the Hatton Township Blight Officer a job he will continue to do along with being our Zoning Administrator. Terry has worked for other cities and townships in Clare County as their blight and zoning officers.

The Hatton Township Board approved the updates/amendments to the 1993 zoning ordinances at their August 19, 2025 meeting. Updates/amendments to the 1994 zoning ordinances will take place on January 1, 2026. See Hatton Township website for a copy of both the 1993 and the 2025 zoning versions.
